Home Remedies For Baby Acne

Several infants are born with tiny red spots on their cheeks, that have been given the name of baby acne. This acne normally remain until about 6 months of age and can also be found over the forehead, neck, back and chin of a baby.

Simple Home Remedies for Baby Acne

  • Get 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp lemon juice. Combine them properly and use on the impacted area, using a cotton swab. Leave it on for 1/2 hour and then rinse with lukewarm water.
  • Right after feeding the baby, always clean his/ her face gently with a towel that has been soaked in water.
  • Pump out your breast milk and put on the affected area, using a cotton swab. Leave it for 15 mins and afterwards rinse with water.
  • Do not use oily creams as well as oils on your baby's face. It is not only worsens the sensitivity, but also triggers clogging of pores and continuing inflammation.
  • Clean your child's face with a gentle soap and lukewarm water, a minimum of 2 times a day. This helps open the pores and eliminates the oils and sweat that can trigger acne formation.
  • Often clean your baby's clothes and other items, such as bed cover, pillow covers, etc in mild cleaning agents.
  • Be sure to clean out saliva from your baby's skin from time to time, since it is also one of the reasons for baby acne.
  • Manage your diet. Do not eat excessive oily stuff or foods that might worsen acne.
  • Get numbers of fresh fruits juices and large quantity of water in your diet.

Notice: There is no need to jump on to treatment right away on spotting the first abrasion. Actually, baby acne, when left undisturbed, often improves within a couple of weeks by itself. But, if the problem continue for more than 3 months, it is recommended to go for the above-mentioned home remedies or speak to a medical professional to manage the complication.
